Nature Reserve Pericos

Tucked in the tropical forest, just off the main road to the pacific coast, you'll find the nature reserve Pericos. We leave Cali early in the morning and will hike for a few hours through the jungle, along rivers and waterfalls, in order to reach our campingsite. This is incredible place to explore the rich diversity of the Colombian flora and fauna, and an excellent site for bird watching.

San Cipriano

Just two hours from Cali, this nature reserve is a great place to relax and get to know the culture of the Colombian pacific. The village is only accesible on "brujitas", a journey on the old train tracks through the jungle. You can go tubing down the river, hike to the nearby waterfall, and why not spend a night camping or in cabins.

Tatacoa desert

This is the second largest arid region in Colombia, which covers an area of 300 km2. The distinct colors of the Tatacoa desert divide it into the grey area and the ocher area. Here the erosion has created a labyrinth landscape of gullies waiting to be explored. Due to the very low humidity and remote location, this is also a terrific place for stargazing. A visit to the local astronomical observatory can also be arranged.

Los Nevados Natural Park

Starting in the coffee region Salento, this trek takes you up to the roof of the Andes and the páramo ecosystem at 3.800 m. This is the birthplace of many watersheds and the habitat for plenty of species that have adapted to these harsh conditions. We stay at a small farm at the foot of Nevado de Tolima. There is also possibility to climb its snow capped peak at 5.200 m.
